Deadline.com reports that writer and Executive Producer on AMC's "The Walking Dead," Frank Darabont, has let go the entire writing staff. They note, while not unheard of to have some writers leave, to let go the entire staff is a bit odd. Note, this includes fellow writer and Executive Producer Chris Eglee as well. This comes off the news that "The Walking Dead" has already been approved for a second season with 13 episodes. This season saw only six debut. Apparently, Darabont wants to follow the model of the BBC show "Torchwood" that hires freelance writers to script episodes. Deadline says Darabont faces a hurdle with the Writers Guild in that they may not approve the change. In related news, AMC will be showing the entire season to "The Walking Dead' this Sunday!
