A new series will be coming to the CW, one described as a cross between The Hunger Games and Contagion.
Aptly titled Sick, the series is about a world where youths are quarantined after a mysterious virus makes the adults "allergic" to teenagers.
According to Deadline, Sick "centers on a band of teens who escape from their containment units and go on the run from authorities."
We are assuming there is more to the "allergy" than is described here, because it does sounds kinda goofy.
As soon as the kid turns 13 they become deadly? And vice-versa, once they hit 20, they are safe?
It almost sounds similar to the Justin Timberlake movie, In Time, where a form of population control was implemented with people on their 25th birthday getting allotted a specific amount of time left to live, which was used for payments and bartering.
Perhaps in Sick, for every teenager that reaches their 20th birthday, another adult dies?
Maybe not, though, as the teenagers are said to be quarantined.
We'll have to wait and hear more about this one before fully judging, I suppose.
