Starz sent over the trailer with a tidbit that show writer David Goyer was heavily influenced by his love of comics when developing Da Vinci's Demons, as it features glider wings that are inspired by Batman and an appearance from Vlad Dracula.
David Goyer also compared Leonardo Da Vinci to three heroes, Indiana Jones, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark of Iron Man.
"I picture him as one-third Indiana Jones, one-third Sherlock Holmes, one-third Tony Stark (Iron Man) - and he kind of was," Goyer said, reports the Shanghaidaily.
“Da Vinci’s Demons” premieres on Friday, April 12th at 10pm ET/PT, exclusively on STARZ
“Da Vinci’s Demons” follows the ‘untold’ story of the world's greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five year old Leonardo da Vinci (played by Tom Riley) is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. The eight-part series is created and penned by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel), who also directed the first two episodes.
