Last week Tuesday it was revealed that Ben Kingsley is involved in some sort of secret project with Marvel Studios.

Speculation and rumors began swirling about that Ben Kingsley might actually be the Mandarin with the latest rumor stating he's not, but that the Mandarin does exist and is upset with basically what went down in Iron Man 3.

Seems the Mandarin (via Latino Review) didn't like the fact that Aldrich Killian got Trevor Slattery, the drunken British actor, to portray him as well as Killian taking credit for the Mandarin.

Well, how is it all going to play out?

Pure speculation on my part, but it's possible the Mandarin could be revealed as the big bad in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as already Iron Man 3 plays heavily into the series with the Extremis.

It's also possible that Ben Kingsley could portray the Mandarin with the actor Trevor Slattery made to look like him in Iron Man 3. Or, of course, another actor altogether, but Kingsley appearing as a cameo with the real Mandarin getting his revenge on the ABC TV series.

As details about Ben Kingsley just came to light, it doesn't seem as if the character would fit into any of the upcoming Marvel Studios movies with Thor 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, or even The Avengers 2 or Ant-Man. Ben Kingsley having a role on the Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series seems more likely given the aforementioned Extremis reference in addition to a villains group referenced in the series that has advanced technology. S.H.I.E.L.D. could also use a boost in the superhero/super villains department, which the Mandarin and Ben Kingsley would provide rather nicely.

"You'll never see me coming." - Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin from Iron Man 3.

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC.
