So Terrax is out, Jen is in during the latest Disney XD showing of Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.!
This week’s episode finds the green team in Vegas hosting the opening of a new casino. There are in-jokes aplenty, but the crux of the situation comes when the place explodes at the ax of Terrax, current (in this piece) Herald of … Galactus!
It is amazing how true to the character of Terrax this toon stays throughout, very enjoyable characterization. Rick Jones and the documentary presentation are always great fun, but Hulk in a “monkey suit”? And standing up as long to Big G himself as Hulk did? Nyah!
We do get a good exploration of this incarnation of Jen Walker, AKA She-Hulk. Apparently our attorney-in-residence is feeling a bit put upon by Red Hulk and so she attacks Big G more out of frustration than anything, and before you can say “Norrin Radd,” Shulkie is the new Herald of Galactus.
The artists of this toon do a wonderful job of portraying Jen both in and out of the influence of Big G and transformed by the Power Cosmic. It is an outward struggle and inward: worth to Big G’s hunger vs. worth to herself and to her team/family.
Believe it or not, it all comes down to a Terrax/Shulkie Marvel Team-Up. Yep.
This was not a great use of the mighty Galactus, but I am a bit of a cosmic snob myself where such characters are concerned. It was an enjoyable half-hour and a good look into the soul of this Jen Walker. And again, excellent on Terrax.
